What is Make One Guy Rich?
It is a live internet social experiment. A single public progress bar tracks how much money strangers have voluntarily sent to one person, starting at a $1,000 goal and unlocking new bars at $5,000, $20,000, $50,000, $100,000, $1,000,000 and $10,000,000.
Who gets the money?
One person, the guy the site is named after. There is no team, no company, no charity and no split. That single destination is the entire premise of the experiment.
How much can I send?
Any amount. Contributions are pay what you want with no minimum and no maximum, so one dollar and ten thousand dollars are both accepted the same way.
Is the number on the bar real?
Yes. The total reflects payments actually received through Stripe and refreshes automatically as new contributions come in. It is not typed in by hand.
Do I get anything in return?
No. Contributions are voluntary gifts with no product, service, reward, equity, profit or return attached. The only thing that happens is the bar moves.
Can I get a refund?
No. Contributions are final and non-refundable, which is why the advice on this site is to send only an amount you are completely comfortable losing.
Is it safe to pay?
Payments are processed by Stripe in its own secure checkout. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by this site.
Is this crowdfunding or charity?
Neither. There is no campaign, no cause, no tax deduction and no promised outcome. It is an experiment about whether the internet will make one person rich for no reason at all.
What is the smaller bar above the main one?
It tracks $1,500 a month, the amount needed to cover basic living costs while the experiment runs. It is separate from the big goal ladder.
What happens when a goal is reached?
The next bar opens. Each level from $1,000 up to $10,000,000 unlocks in sequence, and the site keeps showing the same live total against the new target.
